I state my case

The thought of writing a manifesto, has always been attractive to me, because I like consistency, I like the idea of stating ones very basic philosophy and let everything else flow from it.

For years and years I have considered writing down my very basic thoughts on life, but for a long time I thought they were of no interest to anyone but me. About a year and a half a go I got a mail from someone in distress asking me all these questions, questions about life, truth and direction. This mail convinced me to write mine.

People don't write manifestos anymore, I think that is a loss. I imagine that Karl Marx, and many others who have attempted to write one would be pretty appalled by how their messages have been misinterpreted, but i still think its a worthy pursuit. So I have spent a year and a half writing just a few pages, treading very carefully. The result is not what I expected.

I don't know how long i will be able to write whatever I want on this page, but for now I can, so I have decided to publish them here. Read them, share them, argue about them, or disagree with them.

I'm chocked by the weakness of though. By weakness i mean that there is nothing new. Grecs, Chinese, Buddhists and others though that thousand of years ago and probably other persons who didn't write manifesto. I know that what is not good for me can be good for other, and you may have helped people. But I can't just accept that human repeat the same things. Let's contribute to evolution, study actual element and develop it, or help propagation of every type of knowledge. Simplistic issue implying actors like lier, truth teller, and notion such being good have already been solved in the past, but giving the solution is not sufficient. To understand, people shall find themselves, after all this is very basic form of logic, the best way to help them is to give them key or direction (that's what psychologist normally do).

To be happy everyone just need to learn to fully understand by what they are surrounded, what are the resources, think about the different paths and choose the best way to interact. We can change the world, but just by acting at our poor individual range, we shall feel it's not sufficient but it's the best we can do.

The actual issue is lazy thinking, people can get without thinking which lead us to an idiocracy (cf. the film).

Your game is a great piece of art, I hope i'll have the chance to produce such an accomplishement in my life (this is just the beginning for me). I would express two pure subjective bad point, despite the creativity possibility, there is a small lack of accessibility (maybe due to the input devices), and a lack of oneself development, outcomes.

Video game are a media and have strong influence on gamers, what is beauty without intelligence ?

May I suggest the inclusion of a game mod with a story including your philosophy (or giving key, direction for reasoning), it could be poetic, entertaining and benefits to many.

Hope this little interaction could have contribute.

I know it's not the proper place to post such things, but it semms to me rather direct contact, so I gave it a go.
I'd really like to try the game, so I bought a code before I started the executable. Which gave me this error in the my_stderr.txt : Failed to open audio device. Could you pls tell me what kind of device Love is looking for?

Thanks a lot: AndrĂ¡s

My loyalty is to the system which is best, whatever that may be. The old anarchists thought that system would be one without money, profit, or trade, but ultimately they believed in letting people to their devices to do whatever is best for them.

I can speculate on what that system will be like or how it will operate, but that is not the focus of my political philosophy. The focus of my political philosophy is to achieve the conditions in which the best system can emerge. Those conditions, which are founded on my belief in evolution (I suppose that will fail me?), are where anyone is allowed to use their property as they like, and let the most successful rise and spread. Massacre the surrounding towns? See how far that takes you. Invest everything in a single dearest leader? Fine, but you'll not have millions of conscripted "citizens" to steal from daily to fuel your failed idea.

It is when people make bold assumptions about what will be best and mandate them to the world, trying more to make their system work than actually trying to achieving what is best because they cannot come to terms with the fact that their system isn't best, that their belief fails them. It seems that you have opted for centrism or agnosticism, or more accurately, nihilism. It is like the people who realize that Gods and states and pontiffs have no claim on 'meaning', and instead of accepting that meaning is only what you make it, say that "No one can ever know!"

A very interesting read. Your style of writing, Eskil, has always captured me even in the most mundane posts. It almost reminded me of the novel, Ulysses, in that sense. But, this was different-- for lack of better words I'll leave it at that.

That's so untrue.. As you've said it seems really uncommon nowadays for people to express their attitude to life in that open manifesto style. And it's wonderful to discover ones like you.. I really think you're influencing people in a good way even if you don't hear much response. They can be weak or undecisive, but they are on your side.

You just switched out one system for another. Another system wont save you, but your belief in it will fail you.

You spelled "therefore" wrong in your second paragraph.

I made a vlog again your last blog post:

You talk in this post about no single form of government or political construct working eternally in the interests of society. You are correct: a political system which is not subject to evolution will fail, and a lack of competition will allow these systems to go unchecked. A constitution or manifesto does not have fangs to bite into those who would pervert it, but the market does; for those who pervert the structure of production in a free market are punished with losses. The state is a dead end. It is unresponsive to change and uncaring towards corruption. Strike at the root: take an interest in minarchism and anti-statism.
